Real Volkswagen BeetlesReal New Volkswagen BeetlesHere are some photographs of some real new Volkswagen Beetles a friend saw (and photographed) at the Bristol Volksfest 2002. New Volkswagen Beetle Racing CarWhile at the Castle Combe racing circuit for the Spring Action Day I saw this new style Volkswagen Beetle which is not used on the road, but on the racing circuit. The Action Day allows members of the public to take their road cars around the Castle Combe circuit as fast as they want and this beetle looked quicker than most. This may however be because it had a skilled driver. When I went back to the Castle Combe Circuit for the Lux Traffic Controls & Management Car Races, I saw the new Volkswagen Beetle actually racing. It was entered into the Castle Combe Special GT Championship. It was a double header and during both races it kept up with the Ferrari 355. That makes this Volkswagen Beetle an impressive racing car. I have also found out it is a VW Beetle RSi 2.8 driven by David Turner and it competes in the VW Cup. Bristol Volksfest 2003He went back again and got some more pictures of new VW Beetles at Bristol Volksfest 2003 including the convertible. He took quite a lot of photographs this year, but they are good so I wanted to include them. However the page may take a while to load. Click on a thumbnail (the small picture) to get the bigger photo. Old Volkswagen BeetlesSome of these (also photographed at the Bristol Volksfest 2003) are like my Pink-Kar slot car. The blue VW Beetle below has the same wheels as my scratchbuilt Beetle slot car I made. Beach Buggies, Off-Road Buggy and Sand RailI quite liked these photos as I am building my own off-road buggy called a Tomcat. Mine will have a bigger, water cooled, V8 engine and coil springs. There are also some beach buggies based on the VW Beetle. The yellow one I think is called a sand rail. Coming Soon - WallpaperMy mate also took some pictures with a higher quality camera that will be suitable for making into computer wallpaper.
