Photographs of Real Minis - Bristol Mini Day
Here are some photographs of real minis. Most of the photographs were taken at the Bristol Mini Day (organised by another Adrian). At the 2001 Bristol Mini Day I took my new 'analogue' camera and took some really poor pictures, so I took my digital camera to the 2002 Bristol Mini Day. The results are below. There are also some pictures from the Regency Stages Rally held at Brean Leisure Park in 2003.
Mini 1275 GT
Most of the Scalextric minis I own are based on the Mini 1275 GT shown below.
Prepared for Racing
These are all minis that have been race prepared for different types of racing. The first 6 pictures are of minis used for grass track racing, or more likely, stock car racing (also known as banger racing). Minis used for stock car racing are known as mini stocks. The other photographs are of minis prepared for rallying, probably road rallies as they only have small wheels.
Minis at the Regancy Stages Rally 2003
These photographs are minis used in the Regency Stages Rally at the Brean Leisure Park. Rally car No. 76 is driven by Tony Perks and co-driven by Phil Banwell. Rally mini No. 78 is driven by Ian Clare and co driven by Jamie Coxhill. The red mini No. 79 is driven by Norman Cutler with Pam Harvey sat beside him reading the notes and/or map.
Pick-Ups
Here are some mini pick ups. I like mini pickups as my first flatmate had a mini pick-up made by British Leyland at the same time as I had another slightly larger British Leyland pick up. Minis have also been made by Austin Rover and Rover. They have also been tuned by many people including Cooper (see photographs below).
Others - Mini Coopers, Customised etc
Here are some more pictures of other minis including some Mini Coopers and some interesting conversions and paint schemes which should give you some ideas if you want to personalise your Scalextric cars.
