First Prototype Slot Car Chassis

You will have to make do with just the pictures for now. I will add more text later.

The idea was to be able to remove the rear axle if necessary, but when I built it I found the pinion wheel would not be able to go past the panel above it (with the shape cut out of it). So I glued the plastic removed to make the slot for the bearings, back in behind the bearings.

However the motor is removable because the panel at its end is also removable. The motor is held in place by the panel with a hole in it at the output shaft end, the removable panel and selotape. The motor body is stopped from turning by the sticky out bits that locate in the recesses in the motor body at the output shaft end.
